The first part of November is always a hard part of the year for me. The days become shorter and the weather becomes colder and it always reminds me that Winter is just around the corner. And well Winter always makes me want to escape! Once I get to the middle of November and the Christmas fun begins I really start to enjoy this time of year.
This weekend we had a games afternoon at the Fisher’s house. The kids were doing Christmas crafts, covering themselves with bells and reindeer antlers and the adults were playing Catan! It was a great afternoon followed by a yummy chili and nachos supper. The kids all have such a great time with all of their friends and it really put them all in the Christmas spirit. Our children had picked out some Christmas clothing while we were in the US shopping so they were excited to wear their new shirts / leggings.
After supper was over we headed into New Minas for the Festival of Lights Parade. It was a cold night and wet at times but the kids loved the parade and right after we hopped in our car and headed down to the fireworks. They were not very long but a perfect way to end the night.
Up until that point I was going to wait a week or so to put out some of my decorations, but after I came home I had to get all my snowman decor out and start the Christmas decorating. I love snowmen, but just in decor, not in real life lol! The house is now starting to remind me of one of my favorite times of the year and now each weekend until Christmas we have some great events to share with friends and family. Very exciting! The season passes by too quickly so I plan to take in as many moments as I can to enjoy it all!
