The end of our wonderful advent month!

This past month has truly been wonderful! Some days were very busy as we tried to fit in our advent with our already very busy routine. The kids seemed to have a lot on the go this month, but we made sure that we made time for our advent.

During the last week or so, the kids finished up their gifts that they made for their teachers and delivered those to them, dance and riding teachers included. All of the kids also brought in cookies to the staff at their schools and made ornaments for support staff! We baked and delivered some homemade rolls to the Women & Children’s Centre, which was very appreciated. We also went caroling with a group of wonderful families through a subdivision in New Minas. So many homes appreciated us coming by!

Yesterday we made a nativity video with the help of our Children / Youth Pastor who lent us some costumes. Our goal was to make something we could post on Christmas Eve or Day that spoke about the first Christmas! We kept it short as there were many children involved, but it turned out great and the children enjoyed making it!

Today we made mini gingerbread houses with our family and friends! The kids always love making these each year! Tomorrow is our last day of advent and we will be attending the Christmas Eve service to celebrate the real reason for Christmas!

I am thankful that we had so many opportunities to give this month and we plan to continue to find opportunities throughout the year to give back in any way that we can! This month was a great start to that!
