So You Think You Can Dance!

Most of you know I love my reality TV. I know a lot of it is not great TV but there has always been something about it that draws me in. I love that ordinary people in a lot of cases are given an entirely different opportunity in life! And for me, watching that unfold is intriguing!

I have watched So You Think You Can Dance for every season. I love dance and I can watch it for hours and hours, so combining reality with dance for me, well let’s just say it makes for a perfect show! Back a couple of seasons ago I started recording the episodes for the girls since it comes on after their bedtime. They really took an interest and began to enjoy them as much as me! After the show is over, the Top 10ish go on a live tour performing some of the best dances of the season as well as some new dances. They usually always tour in the US or make a Canadian stop in Toronto, but toward the end of the season they announced that they were adding more Canadian cities! I checked right away and sure enough Moncton was on the list! That was it! There was no question in my mind I was getting tickets for us to go! It was a perfect Christmas gift for all of us ladies! The girls were very excited! They had watched these dancers excel to a celebrity status in their minds. They knew lots about them from the show and couldn’t believe they would get to see them in real life!

So last night our tickets became reality! We took a road trip to Moncton along with their cousins and friends and went to see the show! The show was amazing! It was better than I had ever expected it to be! It was late for the girls, but they did great! They were cheering and smiles the whole time! At one point one of the dance routines started in the audience and one of the dancers was right beside Alex at the end of the aisle! This was a huge highlight for them! We will definitely go back next year if they make their way back to the Maritimes! Next year the girls and I talked about them saving up some of their own money to combine with the money I use for tickets for them to upgrade to the VIP Passes. They would get to meet the dancers! For now though, the count down is on to next season! 🙂
