Most of you know by now that I love my Birthday! I love all birthday’s actually! I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t get excited about celebrating with someone or for someone. I have the best memories of so many birthdays!
I get excited for a few reasons. First I remember as a kid my Mom was always so amazing at really making our birthday special. She was born on Christmas Day so she never really had the birthday that she had in her own mind. She always let us pick where or what we wanted for our parties. We did the typical McDonald’s Parties, Mom had a clown come for one party at my request and I remember in Grade 7 my best friend and I decided we wanted to rent a hall and have a big dance party. We invited almost all of Grade 7 and it was so much fun! It was never and will never be about presents for me. It has always been about being surrounded by people I love to celebrate with me. I know I can do this on any day of the year, but why not make sure it happens on the day I was born?
I also love thinking back about my year and the many lessons I have once again learned. I will never feel sad getting older because I really have been so blessed! I have 4 amazing children and the best husband I could ever ask for! I have the job I always wanted, surrounded by children and I have great friends and family close by to share all life’s experiences with! The up’s and down’s in life always make me thankful for where I am today, because at some points it was quite the road to get here! I have made many learning mistakes and had to grow a few times to discover my real purpose, but I am here and thankful to be!
Another reason I love to celebrate is because I can! One day, in hopefully the distant future I won’t exist in this life and although I have no fear of heaven, I am just thankful to be here now. I turn 37 tomorrow and there are people who never got to see that birthday, so I appreciate and look forward to blowing out that candle once again! I try my best not to take life for granted and most of all tomorrow I look forward to celebrating with my family, friends and the wonderful children I care for.
In closing I have to share this picture! It isn’t my party, but it just shows you that even though there was a horrifying clown in the room, I was still excited to be at a Birthday Party! 🙂
