And August Ends…

It is amazing to me each year how fast the summer goes by, but this one especially. We ended our month long trip with a night in New England and a stop at our favorite beach. Next year we decided we will stay a few nights at the end so we can have more time there. It is always hard to leave.

We came back into the whirlwind of drama camp, dance classes and VBS. We also . decided to take 2 smaller last trips before summer ended. We headed to the Moncton area for a weekend. We took the kids to Magic Mountain for the first time. It was awesome to have all of the kids tall enough to be able to go down all of the slides. They had a blast and we were excited to have great friends of ours join us there for the day.

We had our family pictures taken by that same friend. She has such a talent for photography so we try to have our family pictures captured anytime we are in her area. We had a crazy afternoon for pictures. We wanted the clouds since we wanted to take them on the beach, but on this day, the clouds brought the wind and rain. In the end the pictures were perfect and we are very happy with them.

The last weekend of the summer we headed for a quick trip to PEI. It was great to take the kids to explore some areas we didn’t get to see last time. Over the Spring the girls had gone to see the play Anne & Gilbert, so it was very fitting for them to get a Green Gables tour this time. We also hit up many Cows Stores. This was a highlight for all the kids including friends of ours that we were travelling with. ๐Ÿ™‚

On our first day we toured some glass bottle houses. I was very impressed. I had no idea what to expect, but wow they were pretty awesome. We ended up staying for a while and enjoying our supper there as well, with a stop on the beach on the way back.

Caile surprised me at the gift shop. We had spotted some beautiful sea glass earrings in turquoise. I wanted to buy them for her, because she loved them as well. We decided we would look at the store at the end on our way back through. When I took her in, she went over and immediately bought a pair… for me. She wanted to surprise me. She is so giving and always thinking of others. It was pretty sweet.

We took the ferry back over to NS as it is more fun for the kids and adults to hang out with friends rather than drive. ๐Ÿ™‚ We stopped for some yummy Pictou County Pizza and then before we knew it, the weekend was over.

Luckily it we had the holiday follow the weekend so we decided to head to our favorite white sand beach to end the summer. It was a perfect day there, warm and sunny and the kids found lots of sand dollars.

One last day left of summer before school starts, so it was a perfect chance to use our Get Air Passes I had bought a while back. Ella & Noah had been before, but this was Alex & Caile’s first time. We went with their cousins and everyone had a blast.

School is now back into full swing and the dance year has started again as well. Everything just began when it was time for Sandy and I to leave for Automattic’s Grand Meet Up in Whistler BC. So thankful that my Mom take over for us for the week while we have been away and all of our amazing friends and family can help out with so many things. It is a great week so far, can’t wait to share more about it with all of you shortly. ๐Ÿ™‚
