Yesterday Sandy mentioned to me that if any tree ever falls for us, it will be this one. I knew this tree definitely had an odd shaped centre causing it to have a bit of a lean, but I didn’t imagine it would budge. This morning right before my alarm at 4:50am I heard the crash. I was horrified to go down. Our real tree is a Wheatons tree meaning it is made of 90% very breakable ornaments. All I could think of was “Not the big red acorns!”.
I went right downstairs and based on the glass I saw I was shocked, only a couple of ornaments, but I could not see what was under the tree. Luckily it landed on the rug. But right off I could see that 2 of the red acorns were off, but not broken. I was immediately relieved.

Sandy came down and we picked up the tree. I was never so thankful for how the kids decorate. When we started getting these ornaments I cared for children, so the kids learned to loop the ornaments way back on a branch and make sure they are super secure. The ornaments that came off mainly came off because they came apart from their top. The tops are still on the tree lol. It will need a little work today, but Sandy luckily was able to see the problem causing it to lean. An old branch stub we had cut off causing issues in the base. He cut it and within 30 minutes we had the mess cleaned up.

Hopefully that is the last Christmas Tree wake up call! 🙂 And on a side note, although Zeus is laying by the tree very concerned, he definitely didn’t take it down haha.
