When Caile was a toddler we started the discussion about what activity we wanted to start her in. My brother and I had taken piano for 14-15 years, starting when we were 3 and I saw so many benefits, especially involving memory throughout the years. Dance was always very appealing to me since memory development is involved as well as physical activity, just to name a few. We lived in Berwick at the time, so I started reaching out to a few dance companies throughout the Valley. Kelly, the owner of Dance ConXion, had a great response, with lots of info, but more than anything, I had a really great feeling about her. So we enrolled Caile when she was 3.
She loved dance! Right from the beginning she had dreams of a big pink tutu with lots of sparkles. Her first recital didn’t quite work out that way. She performed to a few animal related songs which matched this costume perfectly. I always giggle at my tutu dreaming girl wearing animal print. 🙂

The following year Ella could join as well and they were so excited to be dancing together. Ella also had dreams of a pink costume with lots of frills! Let’s just say they both got their wish that year. Aren’t they adorable?!

They continued to take the same classes trying many different styles through the years. Dance ConXion has always offered combo classes which the girls loved. It allowed them to try a few different styles during 1 longer class.
One of Caile’s favorite styles when she was younger was musical theatre. Emily and Kate also started dancing and a few years later they were in classes all together. The girls were enjoying dancing with family, but also meeting new friends, some friendships that they still have to this day!

Caile decided to join a competitive troupe, which would allow her to perform in competitions. She really enjoyed this. Dancing in front of an audience & judges was exciting. She also really enjoys watching dance, so if she’s not performing in that time period, you’ll always find her in the audience taking in the talent.
Over the years she danced competitively with many dancers, making friends along the way. Sometimes she was one of the oldest and other times she was one of the younger ones. She learned and grew along the way. In this final year she danced in the same troupe as Ella as well as Em and Kate. She also had a few friends in the troupe, really making for a great final year.

Tomorrow is her final day of dance as she performs in her final recital. It is so bittersweet to close this chapter. I’ve enjoyed watching her dance over the years and I know she’s enjoyed it as well. I’m thankful that dance has been part of her journey and even more thankful for the people she has met along the way. Kelly, along with her other teachers have been incredible role models and I’m thankful for the passion that she in particular pours into her dancers.
I am so thankful that we found Dance ConXion and appreciate so much the last 14 years. I’m thankful that Caile could do something she loved with friends and family along the way and be proud of how much she has grown over the years. As she hits the stage one last time, I hope she takes in every second of it and embraces this final chapter. Thank you to everyone who has supported her over the years. As dance ends, I’m excited to see all of the new chapters that will open up for this amazing girl, the sky is the limit. Love you Caile Beth!
