Rocking Where You Are

I’m 2 months away from being 1 year into the best fitness journey of my life. I’ve stopped and started so many different types of exercise throughout my life. I’ll get to where I want to be and then just like that I check it off my list and I’m done. This rollercoaster hasn’t done anything for me.

I can honestly say that now I feel a healthy addiction to working out daily and stretching often… oh how I love stretching. I’ve made my way through more programs and am in the middle of a 8 week one now that may end up being my fav yet.

My weight is slightly higher than it was in the summer, but I’m so much stronger. I still can’t get over how tough this all was in the beginning. Everyone has their own challenges to work through when they start a fitness journey. For me, it was building strength in areas of my body that were so beat down and weak.

I suffered from sciatica often, a shoulder that was finally not popping in and out of socket, but had no strength and chest muscles that were finally no longer in pain. My chiropractor brought me to an okay place, but it was up to me to get to where I needed to be.

My shoulder and arm taped up back in 2019 after a visit to the Chiropractor. I couldn’t even carry a bag of groceries with this arm.

When I started most exercises I had to do with 2lbs or my own body weight. I was sore a lot. I stretched a lot. It was a slow gradual increase in weight and still is. I’m up to 12 lbs now for arms and my shoulders, chest and back have definition and strength.

The trainer who is leading my current program was talking about the fact that it doesn’t matter where you are in your journey compared to anyone else. All that matters is that you’re rocking where you are and I can honestly say that I am!

I’m proud of how many programs I’ve completed and many more that I’ve tried. I love how amazing I feel, the benefits to my mental and physical health and the wonderful women I’ve met along the way. These women continue to encourage me and inspire me. I’m so happy to have found my BODi group. A few of my friends have also now joined as well and I really enjoy watching their growth.

No matter where you are in your journey, I hope you’re rocking where you are… it’s all that matters. ❤️
