I have 1 day left and can’t help feel anything but thankful for these past 3 months… the memories, the adventures, the uninterrupted time with my family and friends.
We were really blessed to have our Thomas family (my sister in law & family) home for a few weeks when we returned from vacation. We were able to take them for their first ocean beach day and enjoy some nice summer weather as the boys had not been here in the summer in the past that they would remember. Ezra especially loved having Camden, who is only a couple months apart in age to play with. It was a pretty awesome few weeks.

We went down to the Charlesville area for our summer visit with my grandparents. It is always nice to see them. Sometimes I am taken back that they are in their 90s and living in their own home that my dad grew up in. They have a beautiful property by the ocean. I enjoy hearing my Pop’s jokes, he always says something to make me laugh and my Nannie always fills me in on everything happening in the family. They are such an amazing couple and an inspiration to me.

We did quite a few day trips, longer and some shorter. The kids enjoyed a trip to Magic Mountain and we tried a new adventure place called Activate. I loved this place. It was awesome… full of movement, challenge and problem solving. We broke into 2 teams and had a blast. Will definitely be heading back again.

We spent a lot of evenings in this last month getting the house we bought for Alex ready for sale. Her and her fiancee bought their own place where they will be allowed to have their dogs, since the area she lived in did not allow them. The house needed a lot of repainting, some basic maintenance work as well as a bunch of yard work. It took a lot of time, but last week we were finally able to list it. We are hoping for a quick sale and closing this chapter of our lives.
I squeezed in a couple of final painting projects. My bedroom was something I really wanted painted before I went back. It was a medium blue and we had dark chocolate curtains. I work from my room for part of my day and often found it too dark. I wanted a brighter change. During our getaway (Sandy and I’s first night away without kids in a super long time), the room we stayed in was a pale blue, with beach prints around it. So pretty and bright. I came home and found a similar color. We bought new white curtains and the room looks so different. I still need to get some prints for the walls and a new comforter, but I am excited to return to work in a brighter space. I also painted our hallway end table with chalk paint. I love that stuff. I will definitely do a few other things around the house in the coming months.

During my final week off, we were lucky enough to get Taylor Swift Toronto tickets! The girls were beyond excited. Definitely a huge dream come true for them and honestly, I am through the moon excited as well. Amanda and I had to do a bit more hunting for ours, but we scored some, so all 6 of us (Amanda & I, along with 2 of my girls & my 2 nieces) will be adventuring to Toronto in November of 2024. The bracelet making has already started! Pretty exciting end to my sabbatical.

Lastly, as far as my digestive health, I am still off of my stomach acid blockers and things are going well. I eat watermelon every evening (the alkaline nature of it helps) and have been cautious about what I eat (not a lot more than what I did previously as I had a pretty good idea of what bothered me). I have continued to workout regularly through BODi which helps a lot. If I have a rough day, which does not happen very often I take Pepsid AC, which helps a lot. Overall, I have been pretty happy with how things are going.
I still haven’t decided how to spend my final day off, but in the meantime… a final shout out to all of the memories we made during the last 3 months… I will definitely remember these incredible months… “I said remember this feeling…”
