For years now I have been reading and skimming many blogs by friends, people I follow and some that I come across by random search. I have decided it is time for me to create my own blog! Our family is so busy with life that sometimes I look back and try to remember specific details, but the memories blur together! I am often teased for the many many pictures I take during the course of a year, but I love looking back and I love that I am leaving behind me a way for my children to look back many years from now! This blog will be a way for me to connect all of the fun we have, places we go and things we do with our family and friends. It will also be a great avenue for me to have with my childcare, since I am often looking back for different crafts, games or fun days we had!
This past weekend has been one of those weekends that I will love to look back upon! We started our weekend with a walk at Miner’s Marsh. One of my favorite spots! We were lucky that evening to be joined by my sister in law, brother in law, his family and my Mother in Law. Some of them were down from AB and my kiddos loved being able to walk a dog at the marsh!
On Saturday we decided to make the long trip down to my grandparents in Pubnico! I love the drive, but hate how long it takes to get there! I miss the shore the way it looks over there compared to here in the Valley! We had a great visit catching up with them and from there we headed to Thomas H Raddall Park. We met up with lots of friends and family and had an amazing day on the white sand beach! I recommend it for anyone who loves the white sand, but looking for a quiet spot! It was perfect! There is something about that sand. It always makes me feel like I am on a piece of heaven!
Sunday we were lucky enough to celebrate my brother in law Matt’s birthday with him this year here in the Valley. We spent the afternoon / evening at Scot’s Bay. It’s a beautiful spot and the tide was in enough that the kids could enjoy some swim time! Very different from the day before because this beach has mud / rocks, but the kids love any water they can swim in!
Today was a hot day! The girls were in the Gala Days parade and I was one of the parent leaders so I was able to walk with them! They did great! I reminded myself a few times that the next parade we would be dressed in winter gear to keep warm. It definitely made me appreciate the hot temperatures! It was 30+ today! I love that we get these hot Valley days! Some may think I am crazy, but I really feel my best in summer! After the parade the girls needed to cool off so we went to Lumsden’s Dam! It is a great swimming spot with lots of shade and a big shallow section for swimming! We spent hours there and it was a great way to spend Melissa & Matt’s last day here!
I am always sad to see September begin, but at the same time, I love Fall in the Valley! So much to do, so much fun to be had! I am excited for this busy time of year! 🙂
