Today was my very first morning / early afternoon off since… well… I am pretty sure since I have had children! I really don’t take time for myself during the day and never have, nor have I felt the need to. I really do love spending all of my time with my kiddos, but I will say it was nice to have a break away this morning.
So how did I manage to fill the 6 hours? Very easily! I had booked a dentist appointment to start my day since I find it hard to make appointments like that throughout the year! Once I was done I headed for the marsh! I really wanted to have a nice speedy walk down there without having children set the pace. After about 2 minutes of walking and the right music I decided to go for a run! I haven’t ran in about 2 years, so I was very happy with completing almost 3K without stopping! I decided to stop and enjoy some quiet time at the marsh! I was not dressed for the “feels like” 25 degree temps at that time of morning, so I enjoyed the break!
Some of you may wonder what the “right music” is for me? Well for me, it has to have an awesome beat. I care little about lyrics when I run or exercise in general, so the best music for me during those times… boy bands! Haha! Definitely takes me back, but I still love them! Today it was One Direction! They kept me going for the 3K! 🙂
At the end of my break I noticed Sandy had returned from his run so I caught is attention and we had a few minutes to just chat! I say it over and over, I love his job! I love how flexible it is for him! I love that he can just break during his day and go for a run! We decided to snap a pic of our overheated faces!
Once I was cleaned up I hit Frenchies! I love being able to just skim through the bins, but it isn’t a place I have a lot of time for, so it was nice to be able to go this morning! I also managed to get a few groceries and my eyebrows waxed! It really was a great day, but I was also very happy to pick up my kiddos!
I have another Tuesday off next week, so Sandy and I have decided to hike Cape Split together! Neither of us have ever been so we are excited to have a date day together! I could get used to these random days off!
