Happy 12th Birthday Emily & Katie!

I will always remember the day that I found out that I was having twin nieces. I was fortunate to be able to come to the ultrasound with your Mom. Your Mom was not shocked that she was having twins, she had suspected this for some time. She was a bit surprised to find out that she was having 2 girls. I was so excited. Cheering in the room. I had wanted a niece so badly and then I found out I was having 2! Your Mom kept asking if there was a chance that even one of you was a boy lol. I didn’t stop smiling that whole day.

I am so thankful that we have been able to live close, to see you grow up and to be able to spend so much time with you over your whole life. I am thankful that because you are so close to Ella, Caile & Noah’s ages, you have developed great friendships and bonds that I know will last.

Emily, you have always been more quiet, taking in things around you and paying attention to everything that is going on. I love listening to your observations on things you see and your stories about school, dance and life. You have close friendships and are such a valued friend. You have a great sense of humor, you’re smart and I love how much you love to have fun.

Katie, from when you were a baby, I could always count on your crawling over to me and giving me some attention. You love to talk and I love to listen. You’re like a news reporter some days giving me the run down on all of what is happening. I love watching you interact with your classmates, you are so easy to get along with and definitely a little social butterfly. You are smart, strong willed and I love how you love to laugh.

I have so many amazing memories with both of you. From all of the themed meals or days we have had, many outings, sleepovers, vacations, school trips and adventures. One of my favorite memories is taking you to New England for the first time and sharing my favorite city Boston with you a few times. My heart is so happy being around both of you and I truly love spending time with you.

I am sad to miss your birthday this year, because you both know how important birthdays are to me. And you know I wanted to steal you for the week to take you with us, but that isn’t really fair to all of your other family. I promise to make it up to you when we get back! I am excited to have you over for a birthday sleepover.

I hope you have the best day today. We all can’t wait to see you at your party when we get back. Love you both so much! Happy 12th! Looking forward to all of the awesome memories we can make this year! Love you both!
