Simply Said… Color Makes Me Happy!

For some people the color of anything simply doesn’t matter. It doesn’t affect their mood and they are really indifferent to choosing colors.
I am NOT one of those people. I learned early in life that the color of my surroundings, walls, clothes, bike, car, etc. etc. actually mean a lot to me and my overall mood.

I am pretty sure it started when I was 4 or 5 and always wanted my Dad to paint or wallpaper my room different colors, patterns, etc. It made me happy. When I spent any amount of time in beige, grey or white rooms I noticed my energy fade.

I was so excited when we built our home and I no longer needed to worry about neutral colors. Thankfully Sandy is not affected by color and could care less what color was on our walls. The kids are like me, so we painted the house in our favorite colors. The kids have always been able to pick out their own. Our house has 12 different colors of paint and thankfully since I work from home, I can go to any space in the house and enjoy how I feel working there.

The past few weeks we have been SUV hunting. We are passing our car down to Alex and decide we wanted another AWD. Color once again mattered to me. A lot of car companies have some very bland colors for SUV’s. I realized even test driving a grey vehicle had me feeling blah about it before I even sat in. After a bunch of research, we found the best price / rating and a color that makes our whole family happy! 🙂
