It hasn’t been a year since Oakley came into our lives, but he is a year old today! It’s hard to believe how quickly the time has gone.
Oakley has a unique personality, but don’t they all?! He loves people so much, almost too much at times lol. He is starting to become a bit more chill, but over the past year he’s had tons of energy. It always surprises me thinking back, since with his siblings he had way less energy and was even checked by the vet to be sure he was good before coming home with us. He was totally fine and I think just needed to be away from his group of pups to show his true personality.
Oakley has some favorite and least favorite things. Oakley and I share a love for peanut butter and bacon. Anytime either of those items comes out, he’s right there.
We don’t share a love for the snow haha. Oakley hates the heat and will do anything to drag you into the shade. He loves the snow and will dive and jump all through it any chance he gets.
He is scared of certain toys of Ezra’s, brown boxes, green bins, motorcycles, any large items. He really dislikes crows and is determined to catch one some day.
He loves Ezra and the two of them are best buds. It has been so amazing watching them grow up together. Oakley loves belly rubs and has the best happy ears when anyone walks through the door.
He’s given us lots of frustration with his desire to chew. We’ve spent a small fortune on chew toys, antlers, etc. and he’s still managed to chew walls, floors and anything wood in the house. We’ve done a few repairs! And all of this when we are home with him. Thankfully the chewing is getting better.
Despite his tough moments, he is an awesome dog that we are happy to have part of our family.
