And My Waves Meet Your Shore Ever and Evermore…

20 years ago we were in New Orleans on the Creole Queen riverboat on the Mississippi, just myself with my very best friend / love of my life. We decided on a very non traditional wedding with just the two of us and I have never regretted it once. We kept it simple, our witnesses were the photographer and the wedding planner for the riverboat. The Captain gave us the religious wedding we asked for and prayed for us. It was a perfect ceremony and the morning was beautiful. It was warm and my Winter skin enjoyed the glowing sun.

Once the ceremony was over, we changed into some casual clothes and sailed down the river. We spent every moment of our day together focusing on ourselves and taking in a very unique city that we were very excited to see for the first time.

Like any relationship in life there are always ups and downs. We have different personalities, but complement each other well. We are support each other, believe in each other and love each other unconditionally.

Our paths should have crossed many times before they actually did, but I believe we weren’t supposed to meet yet. It wouldn’t have worked. When we did meet, we spent years as friends supporting each other and learning more about each other. When the opportunity was right, I asked Sandy on a date. He didn’t believe me at first, we had been friends for so long. Before you knew it, some months down the road we were engaged. I believe you know when you know and we knew.

I can’t imagine navigating this life without Sandy. I’m thankful he accepts all of my quirks and there are lots lol, supports my love of ice cream and my cravings for adventure.

Thank you Sandy for being you! You’re an amazing man who I love more and more each year. Sometimes I wonder how that’s even possible. Here’s to 20 more years! I love you!
